The caloric intake of almonds questioned

Until now, nutritionists have warned us against almonds. If these nuts have health benefits, they also have a
large enough caloric value. But a new study has put this into question. According to researchers at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), almonds contain 20% of the calories in months compared to what it was estimated before.

These results, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, were obtained by testing deemed more accurate than the previous ones. The verdict: a serving of almonds (28 g, about 23 fruit) contains 129 kcal and not 160, as previously thought.

These fruits will then reveal good slimming allies. They constitute snacks low in calories and most importantly, healthy. In fact, almonds contain polyunsaturated fatty acids that reduce cholesterol. They are also rich in nutrients (magnesium, calcium, potassium ...) and fiber, so they promote intestinal transit.

In any case, to keep the line, do not abuse it. Almonds and prefer nature and especially without added salt.
